Gansu is one of the provinces to have most Great Wall sections. The investigation shows that at least five states or dynasties have built Great Wall in Gansu Province. They are the King of Zhao in Qin State (324BC-251BC), Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC), Han Dynasty (206BC-220), Northern Liang State (401-439) and Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The overall length has surpassed 4,000 km (2,485 miles). But due to the natural and human factors, many sections have been badly damaged.
Hebei Great Wall Map
Hebei Great Wall is well known for its completeness and varieties. Due to its closeness to Beijing, Hebei Province is densely built many sections such as the Great Wall in Zhangjiakou City, entitled as "The Museum of China Great Wall", is well known for the long Great Wall length and complete construction styles.
Shanxi Great Wall Map
Many dynasties in Chinese history built Great Wall in Shanxi Province. The wall relics can be found in over 40 counties in nine cities in Shanxi Province. The overall length is over 3,500 km (2,145 miles). Shanxi Great Wall was always serving as the barrier to protect Beijing in ancient times.
