Guangyue
 Tower

Standing in the center of Dongchangfu District, this tower is a key historical site in westShandong and a symbolized architecture of Liaocheng. First constructed in 1374 (the seventh year of the Hongwu reign period of the Ming Dynasty), it is one of the oldest and most magnificent wooden towers and pavilions in China. An old saying goes: “Even Yellow Crane Tower and Yuyang Tower pay homage to it.” Guangyue Tower has four-layer eaves, cross ridges, a base and four stories. It houses tablet inscriptions and horizontal inscribed boards by Emperor Qianlong and famous personages. In June 1998, it was named as a key historical monument under state protection.


Shanxi-Shaanxi-GuildhallShanxi-Shaanxi Guildhall

On the western bank of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal in Dongguan Shuangjie,Dongchangfu District, Liaocheng City, this guildhall is a key historical monument under state protection. The construction of the hall started in 1743 (the eighth year of theQianlong reign period of the Qing Dynasty) and was completed in 1809 (the 14th year of the Jiaqing reign period), lasting 66 years. It witnessed Liaocheng’s advanced commerce and prosperous economy in history. The guildhall consists of the gate, a stage, drum and bell towers, southern and northern observation towers, southern and northern tablet pavilions, Guandi Temple, Spring and Autumn pavilions, displaying traditional Chinese culture and gorgeous decoration. The stone, wood and brick carvings and paintings in the guildhall show high skills,  an unusual structure, and an extraordinary design.

On the western bank of the Dongguan Canal in DongchangfuLiaocheng, this pagoda was first constructed in the Song Dynasty, and is the oldest architecture in Liaocheng. This octagonal Buddhist pagoda has 12 stories, and consists of the base and the body. The four sides of the base are carved with life-like figures, flowers, grasses, cranes, phoenixes and turtles with wings. The body is made of wood-like iron, and was cast story by story.

Standing on the eastern bank of the Wei Canal, northwest of Linqing City, this pagoda is a key historical monument under state protection. First constructed in 1611 (the 39th year of the Wanli reign period of the Ming Dynasty), it is an octagonal pagoda with a post and panel structure with nine stories and eight sides. It is over a quarter mile high, large at the bottom and small at the top. This gorgeous pagoda for Buddhist relics has a helmet-shaped top, rarely seen in China.




Mosque
Mosque

This mosque, which lies on the eastern bank of the Wei Canal in the west of Linqing City, is a key historical monument under state protection, and one of the 10 major mosques in China. No records reveal when this mosque was first constructed, but it was renovated in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1636-1912) dynasties, respectively. This mosque consists of the Moon Observation Tower, Grand Hall, corner pavilions, a preaching hall and bathing rooms. The mosque is a perfect combination of Arabian and Chinese architectural styles.


JingyangJingyang

Jingyang Hillock is a 3A tourist zone and is located in Zhangqiu Town east of the seat of Yanggu County. Legend has it that Wu Song killed a tiger in the hillock as described in the Outlaws of the Marsh. It is also the ruins of Longshan culture. It has a total area of 124 miles, of which 62 miles is taken up by water. Over 20 tourist attractions can be found in the hillock, such as the wineshop,  Mountain God Temple, the site where Wu Song killed the tiger, stone tablets, Tiger Roaring Pavilion, and Monkey Hill.



Cao-Zhis-TombCao Zhi’s Tomb

Lying at the western foot of Fish Mountain in Dong’e County, Cao Zhi’s Tomb is a historical monument under state protection. This tomb was constructed in 233 (the seventh year of the Taihe reign period of the Wei Dynasty). Cao Zhi (192-232) was a son of Cao Cao, Emperor Wu of the Wei Dynasty, and an outstanding representative of the Jian’an literature. In 229 (the third year of the Taihe reign period of the Wei Dynasty), he was given the title of Prince Dong’e. His tomb lies at the foot of a mountain and byYangmao Terrace, where Cao Zhi once read books.
