Shandong Liaocheng, the Land of Water

Liaocheng, located in the west of Shandong province, is known as the Water City. The city of Liaocheng has an area of 8,715 kilometers with a population of more than 5 million people. Liaocheng is historically and culturally rich. Many extraordinary people such as Ji Xianlin and Zhang Zizhong, a master of traditional Chinese painting and a national hero respectively have influenced the Chinese culture. Tourists who are interested in cultural arts and breath-taking views will fall in love with Liaocheng. These two meals have been in the tradition for more than 100 years. With the Laicheng Guada Pancake having a history of more than 200 years and the Wei’s Smoked Chicken, also known as the “Laicheng Iron Cock” having being cooked by restaurants in Liaocheng for more than 180 years. Both of these two meals are cooked with care and with specific choice of ingredients which makes it special.
